Monthly Archives: October 2006
So we are barely just teetering over that year mark and i myself often wonder if we’ll ever stop?!! Probably not! if you’ve been into the shop lately you’ll notice all the crazy changes! If you’ve made it out to one of the premiers this fall, you know that they just get bigger and better!
October 28, 2006 – Triple Threat 2.0 landed at evo. Featuring films from Poor Boys Productions, Theory 3 Media and The Bigger Picture, we had a house full of freaks!!! Being halloween weekend how could we not host a costume party right?! Indiana Jones, Waldo, Wolverine and Storm, the whole Mortal Combat posse and those queer boys from a Night at The Roxburry even made a cameo at our little premier. They hosted a little costume contest and “Goro” from Mortal Kombat ended up sweepin’ up the competition but i really think that Waldo should’ve been in the running!
A couple pros came down, to name a few Tanner Hall was holdin’ down VIP and CR Johnson was rockin’ the mic as MC all ngiht long.
The movies were pretty sick, the free beer was flowing and the giveaways were pretty rad…. CR spent a good couple minutes tossing out bags full of swag and K2 threw down and gave a way a couple pairs of skis for the raffles, Whistler Blackcomb gave out some passes and people were happy. COme the end of the night, kids were running a muck and the party made its way down to Nectar for the after party….
thanks to everyone who made it out, and remember….
what happens at evo stays at evo. you know who you are!
Hey, what’s up everyone…
As you know (or may not know yet) I (erich kunz) hate tooting my own horn, but I figure I should let you know that I won the Downtown Throwdown this past Saturday night at Sturtevant’s ski shop in Bellevue, WA (just across Lake Washington from
Seattle). There were probably 175 people watching, but it was still pretty sweet (the skiing aspect and walking away with 200 bones). An acquaintance of mine filmed the event and made a little edit on newschoolers if you have a few spare moments to take a look (I’m the dude with the green and white striped shirt):

I Think Thank you missed out on a rad party if you weren’t at evo Saturday, September 3, 2006! We won’t mention numbers or names but this place was bursting at the seams!
There were giveaways and raffles, Spacecraft and the giant killer bunny was present and accounted for debuting their newest sticker sheet, there was LIVE music from Rawbeats and the Timesinfinity Gallery roped in Mike Yoshida to bring down some art! Oh, and yes of course, there was dancing!

MSP has out done themselves yet again with the latest add to their repoirtorie, “Push”. I don’t know about you, but I have a love-hate relationship with this time of year. Some of the sickest video premiers roll into town from some of the most amazing production companies. It’s this time of year when every morning when you..re out the door you’re debating whether you should bust out your new jacket already or if its too early, all the while thinking to yourself, ..Nah, it’ll get warm later this afternoon…. but you bring it anyway. It’s this time of year when temperatures drop and the first snowfall across the country teases us intermittently.. then the next week it feels like the summer again. This time of year, all your friends and industry folk alike amass in one place to share the one undying passion for the VP. That’s the love.
On Friday, September 29, 2006, Seattle, Washington was lucky enough to experience an evening of emotional highs from what can easily be dubbed as one of the season..s most epic films. I hadn’t even seen the trailer, and all I was going off of was friends saying, “Oh dude, I know some guy in a different time zone who just got out and said it was siiiiick”. Yeah, thanks. Anyhow, Fremont Studios was gracious enough to open its doors and roll out the red carpet for an evening of what I was soon to find out to be a night of awesomeness. Pre-show, the mood was super chill, people slowly started to trickle in as the doors opened. I actually looked away for a bit, then turned the corner and all of a sudden, mobs! Lines ceased to mean anything and everyone was so stoked to get inside. How can you blame them? Ingrid Backstrom herself was present and accounted for signing autographs and kickin.. it with co-star Sammy Carlson. Eric Pollard? Don’t think that I wasn’t keeping my eyes open for the Line Team Shredder, but he was no where to be seen that night except for on the screen droppin it hot as usual.
I don’t need to sit here and tell you how rad the flick was. Okay, it was rad. Before you run out to buy it though, I’ll giver a go at ranting about the After Party hosted by none other. Following the movie, I was swept away with the masses as we took a short trek down the street to the nerve center of evo (www.evo.com) a Seattle based retail and online lifestyle and apparel shop. So at this point, we..ve got a mob of stoked skiers, an open bar, Vancouver Hip Hop legends Sweatshop Union, and well, you guessed it, from there the night transitions to non-stop ski talk, break battles, red bull pulling out all the stops , and 6 empty kegs.. and that was only night 2 of a 3 night movie weekend for evo! Let the pictures do the talking!

For those of you who didn’t make it down into the heart of Fremont for this year’s solstice parade missed out!!! For those of you who did, you know what we’re talkin’ about!
People lined the streets of 36th street as the antics of the naked bikers and barrage of cultural floats lit up our friendly little neighborhood known as Fremont! WE were lucky enough to be right along the parade route, and as you can see from the pics below, it rocked! We had Mob Law performing live from evo, public art, balloons, graffiti art, and absolute goodness all day long!
