Cilla photoshoot with evo rider Megan Middleton

This past weekend is going down as one of the BEST weekends of my summer. I convinced local Stevens Pass rider, Kayla Kobelin, to roll up to Whistler with a promise of a good day of riding with some awesome ladies. Priscilla Levac, founder of CILLA, collaborated with Camp of Champions for a fun-filled and informal event for ladies!

We gathered all the girls together and had an afternoon session on the Camp of Champions Airbag Jump. The feature was one of the best things I have ever done on my snowboard… hands down. All the girls were pushing each other and themselves. The view behind the jump, the sunshine, and overall vibe was unforgettable. You could really see the progression of all the ladies as they boosted into this massive airbag. Priscilla Levac, Annie Boulanger, and Spencer O’Brien were out having fun and pushing the ladies! Too fun. Kayla and I ended the day with a jib session in the rail garden at COC. Thank you Camp of Champions and CILLA.

EXTREME FUNNESS at the Bonfire P2P at Mt Hood!!!

Bonfire’s 10th Annual Pipe to Pipe went down at Windell’s snowboard camp at Mt. Hood!!  A couple of us took to the road for a day of summer boarding and to see some EXTREME FUNNESS that is the P2P competition.

Registration was going off and after they hit max capacity on competitors there were still kids lining up to try and get on a wait list!  Sounded like a couple kids were bummed, but could it really be that bad? They’re in one of the only places you can shred in the summer in North America AND they are of but a few of the lucky ones to be sitting pipe side to watch THE comp of the summer…. while the rest of you sit from your computer screens taking in as much as you can via the intraweb…but its just not the same!

The competition kicked off with the AM qualifier, followed up by the pro qualifier heat.  There was definitely a lot of familiar faces, but a ton of new players on the scene.  Here are a couple photos from the competition, and for the full writeup check out the full writeup on Transworld Snowboarding’s site and check out this sweet video of the skate comp!

More photos from our field correspondent who went on site for the 10th annual P2P!
