The Service Board Takes on Skate, Art & Community

One of evo’s favorite programs we support is the Service Board. They recently launched a new summer program that encourages the partciapants to work in the community,  learn some new crafts and skate! Here are a few words from tSB director Ashley and Tyvon, one of the members.

Wake Battle of the Brands

Transworld Wake & Alliance Wake Announced the Winner of the $1000 evo Gift Card!

For the month of June, the wakeboard community voted for their favorite brand in the Battle of the Brands.  The heavy-hitting manufacturers of the wake industry entered the evo octagon and duked it out for bragging rights.  It was a hard-fought, nail-biter of a battle with several brands leapfrogging each other for the lead on multiple occasions.  When the dust settled (do octagons have dust?), Hyperlite was the “last brand standing” edging out Ronix by a mere 15 votes.  Full results here.  Congrats to Hyperlite and all brands that battled!

As part of the contest, voters wrote passionate prose to describe what they loved about their brand.  The written entries have been judged by the esteemed editors of Transworld Wakeboarding and Alliance Wake and Kellen from Covington, WA was picked as the winner.  For his description of how Liquid Force saved his life he’s got a cool $1000 evo gift card coming his way!  Read Kellen’s winning entry here.

Thanks to everyone that made the Battle a huge success.  We’ll be pit the ski and snowboard brands against each other this fall – so be ready to represent!

Ride What We Ride: 2012 Skis & Snowboards On Sale!

2012 Employee Skis & Snowboards  On Sale at evo

One of the coolest perks about working at evo is an employee program we call “New Gear Every Year.”  Each August, all the employees pick a pair of next season’s skis or a snowboard and a pair of bindings to ride all winter long (for FREE!). At the end of the season, we turn them back in for resale at evo Seattle.

All of these skis and snowboards are in great condition and the ski bindings are real and not demo bindings! If you don’t mind a couple evo stickers and a few scratches on your boards (we already got that first scratch out of the way for you), then you can get yourself into a sweet setup for a great price!

Sum Bum Sunscreen is Now at evo Seattle!

Do you ever wonder what it would looks like if half of your face was in the sun and the other was not (see picture above)? Now that summer is in full force; remember to protect your skin before you go out for a day in the sun. Try using Sun Bum Sunscreen (shameless plug). Not only will it help protect against skin cancer and keep you looking young…it is also a great way to pick up chicks (or guys)…”Hey! Can you get my back?!”
