[evo Seattle Construction Update] Dale Chihuly's Neon Tumbleweed In Pieces.

[evo Seattle Construction Update] The NEON TUMBLEWEED is on the MOVE
One of the big unknowns with moving evo Seattle down the street, was how on earth we are going to move DALE CHIHULY’S NEON TUMBLEWEED from our the currents store to the new store at the corner of 35th and Stone Way.
evo Seattle Construction Update…Waiting for cement.

evo SEATTLE is RELOCATING THIS OCTOBER: UPDATE
The construction crews building out the new evo Seattle are working hard and fast to get the store opened next month…conditions permitting. The walls are plastered, the floors are getting stained and we are starting to move the heavy shop services equipment into building.
The re-bar is in place for the new entry way and now we are waiting for the cement trucks to get pouring…Seattle has a little cement shortage at the moment. It looks like the economy is picking up steam…what better way to celebrate this than by getting some new skis and snowboards?
Here are the latest pictures of the equipment moving day and the rest of the building:

2013 Armada Skis Are Now at evo!

2013 ARMADA SKIS ARE NOW AT evo!
By Jon Kiser: 2013 Armada skis have officially invaded evo and evo Seattle. Another year and a whole new bag of tricks are coming out of the Armada Ski Company. There are many ski companies that can be called driven or rider owned, but very few can be truly called a leader.

[Out of Office] Made in the USA Near Canada. A Visit to Mervin Manufacturing
evo VISITS MERVING MANUFACTURING [OUT OF OFFICE SERIES]
By Jordan Sunshine, Seattle, WA: The copy and photo team at evo caught up with our friends down the street at Mervin Manufacturing to find out more about the company and what is in the pipeline…you might know them better as the masterminds behind Lib Tech, GNU, and Roxy.
When a couple of surf and snowboard guys decide to build and design their own boards, you get boards with the production and innovation known only to Mervin Manufacturing, made by the team right here in Seattle and Sequim, WA (wasn’t Twilight filmed there?)
Mervin Manufacturing is headquartered in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. Its factory on the Olympic Peninsula is the largest snowboard factory in the world (according to Mervin) and was founded by Mike Olson and Pete Saari in 1977. Our tour guides, Kevin Turner who loves cats and “Banana Slayer” Ryan Davis, showed us around their Fremont offices. Snowboards line the entryway, there’s a mini ramp in the lunch room and rad new products and prototype are all over the place.
The World’s Most environmental SNOWBOARD FACTORY:
“Everything here is local,” Davis says of the materials that go into Mervin’s boards. “We use farm raised wood and material from the local timber industry.” Mervin has found alternatives that are not only safer for both workers and the environment, but also create more durable snowboards and ding-resistant surfboards. These “green” snowboards use recycled bases, soy-based elastomer sidewalls, epoxy resins, and non-toxic finishing clear coats.
We want to thank everyone at Mervin for the big tour…we are stoked to ride!
