K2 CULTURE SLASH MARCH GALLERY OPENING RECAP!
by Nick Meilleur, Seattle, WA: Powabunga dude! Our good friends and neighbors over at K2 Skis and K2 Snowboarding opened their Culture Slash gallery here at evo in Seattle last Friday. Don’t fret, the gallery will be around for the whole month so come down to the store and enjoy the original art behind K2’s world-famous graphics!

Andy Mahre, Ryan Schmies, Ken Marshall, Mike Powell and lots more of the great people over at K2 came to evo to party, and they weren’t the only ones. Crowds swarmed the store right as the gallery opened to get the first peep of Ryan’s morbidly enticing drawings and Ken’s snowboard graphic wizardry.
On the ski side of things, K2 brought the 2013 Hellbent and 2010 Obsethed to the table in addition to the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Pettitor‘s; complete with the original sketch-work. Ryan Schmies has been doing graphics for K2 Skis for a while now and his creativity has created some of most memorable ski graphics to date.
In terms of snowboards, K2 put on display the Fastplant, the Hit Machine and the Happy Hour: 3 rippin’ snowboards with badass original art to accompany them. K2 Snowboarding is known for its sick artist collabs, including Anthony Yankovic and Ken Marshall on the Fastplant, Steven Stone on the Happy Hour as well as riders Danny Larsen, Nick Dirks, Jordan Mendenhall and Jake Kuzyk on the Hit Machine.
On top of all the rad people and artwork there was more Coors Light than you could shake a stick at!
We’d like to thank K2 Skis, K2 Snowboarding and all the awesome people involved for teaming up with evo and having a fantastic evening. Come down to the store and check out the gallery before it’s gone!
