Mountain Bikes Are Here! Yeti, Devinci, and Transition
NEW MOUNTAIN BIKES AT evo: YETI, DEVINCI, AND TRANSITION
By Chris Dickerson, Seattle, WA: As we prepare to launch “Mountain Bikes” at evo, we wanted to take a closer look at three new bike brands hitting the floor at evo this April. We sat down with Brian Limoges, our Director of Merchandising and asked him to tell us more about Transition, Devinci, and Yeti.
From Brian Limoges –
The Transition x evo partnership informally goes back many years so when we officially decided to launch the mountain bike category at evo, having an authentic, reputable and credible Pacific Northwest brand that focuses not only on the ride itself, but on having fun on their bikes first and foremost was a perfect fit – aligning with our core values. Owners Kevin Menard and Kyle Young, in addition to the entire staff in Bellingham, WA, embody the type of lifestyle and attitude that we promote here at evo – work hard, play hard.
Their focus on getting outside, taking advantage of this beautiful area we live in and shredding year-round appeals to us both personally and professionally. It also doesn’t hurt that their new lineup of trail and all mountain bikes have long and slack geometry and have been getting tons of industry press and recognition as efficient peddlers and descending slayers. In addition, their updated suspension platform has been turning heads due to its plush feel and efficient pedaling. Transition has really been ahead of the curve for years with styles such as the legendary BottleRocket – a precursor to a riding style and bike geometry paradigm that has never been more relevant than it is today. Check out the Transition Scout and Patrol to see the latest in that evolution of fun trail and all mountain bikes!
We are also stoked to share Transition employee/athlete Lars Sternberg as an evoCollective rider.

Quebec, Canada based bike manufacturer Devinci Cycles has long had an excellent reputation of best-in-class R&D, rapid prototyping and testing in their facility, and an incredible and efficient suspension platform thanks to the Dave Weagle devised Split-Pivot system. In addition, their Full Response Geometry (FRG) works in conjunction with this suspension type and provides the rider with two distinct riding settings (LO and HI) allowing for customization of the bike geometry depending on the terrain or rider’s preference or style.
Given the incredible bikes they make and the insane amount of press they have received in the last handful of years with athletes such as Steve Smith dominating the international DH podium, Devinci’s surging momentum and upward trajectory mirrors that of evo’s, making it an ideal fit within our assortment.
Check out the full suspension Devinci Troy and Spartan carbon mountain bikes from evo – two incredibly fun and versatile bikes we are honored to carry from this tried and true brand. Also, keep an eye out for evoCollective rider and Devinci sponsored athlete Matthew Slaven shredding on the enduro circuit or in his native Oregon.

What is there to say about Yeti Cycles that has not already been said? Their relentless pursuit of pinnacle products and sheer riding perfection, recent release of their game changing patented Switch Infinity suspension system (upping the already high ante from the “switch” platform), incredible race team with guys like Jared Graves and Richie Rude helping to make “enduro” an industry buzzword and commitment to new design and continuous progression within the broad spectrum of riding styles made them a no-brainer to partner with for our launch of the mountain bike category here at evo.
We are amped to be carrying time-tested bikes like the 575 (with recent 650b upgraded wheel size and geometry) as well as their new breed of do-it-all, category killer “Super Bikes” (dubbed “SB” for short) like the SB5c (having won awards from industry publications such as 2015 Velo’s Editors Pick to more broad mass recognition such as Men’s Journal 2014 Gear of the Year) and the newer enduro focused SB6c.
Yeti owners (affectionately known as “The Tribe”) are hardcore for a reason and we are thrilled to have joined forces with this elite brand as part of our bike assortment at evo.
To round it out, we are excited to kick off the season with our launch event and gallery opening in our Seattle featuring legendary mountain bike photographer Paris Gore on Saturday April 11.
