Winter Staff Picks: By Carly Crabb -Burton, Oakley, Contour, Nixon, Miir
Meet the elusive Carly Crabb. Rarely seen in front of the lens, she helps out to keep our photography looking sharp. She also rules our photo and copy interns with an iron fist…requiring constant coffee and gummy bear delivery for her. The most common question she is asked starts with “Hey Carly, can you shoot (fill in the blank).” Or “Hey Carly, can you film (fill in the blank).” Carly is also the only person in the world that is ok with flying from Denver to Seattle via Dallas.
Here are her picks! Read the rest of this entry »

evo Winter Staff Picks by Sunny Fenton: Atomic, Salomon, Smith, K2, Flylow, Arc’teryx, emu
Since I’m still pretty new here at evo and don’t quite know what everyone does, I just interrupted a meeting between Sunny Fenton and some other evo employees to ask her what she does… turns out she’s pretty important. Sunny makes sure website content and internal navigation are running smoothly so customers can easily find what they’re looking for. If Sunny’s not on her bike or skis, check any nearby sailboats, recreational fields or Brandy’s Lounge in Whistler on New Years Eve (we could write an entire series on that one!).

We’re back this season with all new staff picks for 2012 and this week’s picks come from Maggie in our Product Information department. If there’s anyone at evo who knows about product, it’s Maggie. She writes copy for evo and makes sure every item on the website has a product description. You want the specs? She’s got ‘em. Color options? She knows ‘em. So if there’s one staff pick to pay attention to, it’s probably this one.
-Find Out more about Maggie and what she picked!

Not sure how much you have been paying attention to our blog and our team over the summer, but if we were having a quiz, a couple questions would be:
1) Who is the most ripping-est female skier on the evo team?
2) Where is the ultimate Southern Hemisphereic training ground?
If you answered Vanessa Aadland and New Zealand you were correct. Check out her summary of her trip this summer and learn that along with the high’s, there are also some low’s, but you learn to take them in stride. Read more to make sense of what we are talking about.

Pure Fun Action. That was Volcom’s theme going into their spring/summer line. They are a company who not only comes up with clever slogans, but live them as well. We had a chance to catch up with the Northwest Volcom rep, Colleen- or Coco if you know- and get her take on the Spring Summer 2012 Volcom Women’s line as well as the state women’s fashion. Check out the interview below:

The “Women of Winter” landed in the Pacific Northwest last weekend for 2 days of an intro backcountry safety and awareness course that included a meet & greet at evo in Seattle and an on hill portion at Crystal Mountain. Ive never seen so many women, nor heard as many laughs on a mountainside all at once as i did this last Saturday… quite a thing to see and to be a part of!

evo Team Rider Randa Shahin not only does contests in the United States but she travels internationally as well. Well…Vancouver Canada…but you still have to cross a border. Randa made the trek up to the Great White North to Mt. Seymour for Billabong’s Flaunt It and placed 5th. Pretty awesome if you ask us! Check out the article on Transworld Snowboarding for details and more photos.
