Phil Casabon and Henrik Harlaut Inspire Seattle and Portland
PHIL CASABON AND HENRIK HARLAUT INSPIRE SEATTLE AND PORTLAND
[Update: By Taylor Boyd, Seattle, WA: Phil and Henrik showed up on Sunday evening and screened their films, Keynote Skier and Road to Zion. U-God’s Keynote Speaker, provides the soundtrack to Keynote Skier, with each segment of the film set to a song from the album. Road to Zion is set to an entirely early 80’s punk soundtrack. Just kidding, the soundtrack is of course all reggae. Both films provide a solid balance of rail and jump skiing split between park, backcountry and street locations, and both include plenty of footage of their friends; Mike Hornbeck’s mini-part is one to watch out for. Henrik’s Road to Zion, not surprisingly has quite a bit of contest footage given his contest results from this past season. Edollo and B-Dog showed up with surprise guest, Tanner Hall, who also screened some of his own footage for the crowd, proving that he’s still getting after it as hard as ever. Keep your eyes out for his part in Poor Boyz new film Twenty. Check out the Facebook gallery from the event below and tag yourself if you were there. ]
By Daniel Haugen, Seattle, WA: Stoke meters are hitting record highs here at evo. Prepare yourself for a night of mental destruction onset by two insanely futuristic ski flicks showcasing Armada skiers Phil Casabon and Henrik Harlaut. Both are on tour ‘til late October when each of their films will finally be released online. Luckily, they are gracing evo with six months worth of bangers followed by giveaways, autographs, a meet and greet, and a Q and A session to dive into the creative minds behind the madness.
It’s hard to dismiss the fact that gritty drums paired with jazz samples go great paired with your favorite park run. Phil ‘B-Dog’ Casabon’s Keynote Skier is inspired by hip hop, where both the music and riding complement each other to form a blissful duo with no edge catch.
Hernik ‘E-Dollo’ Harlaut has had quite the year so we can expect nothing less than excellence in his Road to Zion project. Road to Zion gives a look into this last year of Henrik’s life, and is filled with heavy shots from all different parts of the mountain, showing off his domination across many different disciplines.
Meet these rad dudes in person, peep their new movies, snag some autographs, and ask the riders themselves about their movies, lives, aspirations. Whatever you’d like! This is an event you’ll need to be in town for!
