Smith and Cinco Designs Present: Shared Perspective

Portland, OR: Our upstairs neighbor, leading eyewear and helmet manufacturer Smith along with local firm Cinco Design have come together for a creative experiment for a Design Week Portland special event titled Shared Perspective. Using Smith ChromaPop lens blanks, the pair designed and built a camera lens adapter that uses the same lenses found in Smith sunglasses and goggles.

The behind the scenes photos by Embry Rucker above, show the lens adapters are 3D printed, and feature a magnetic lens mount that allow the photographers to swap between lens tints on the fly.  Smith sent the adapter kits to some of their favorite photographers. The results were well received during the Shared Perspective show on April 21st in the empty space between evo’s Portland store and Smith’s new headquarters. If you missed the original event during Design Week Portland don’t fret. The photos will hang on display in our Portland store through the end of May.
